I while ago I learned about Ryan Woods’ story. He lives in Vancouver, and is, among other things, a follower of Jesus, husband, dad to two kids, pastor, and blogger. Ryan is also dying of cancer, currently in the midst of a 3-6 month window to live. His posts are extraordinary, so good I can’t even sum them up here.
At one point he wrote something that shot through me.
My faith is in Jesus–not in healing, not in an easy life, not in a life that I expect but instead in the story he chooses to tell in and through me.
My faith is in Jesus.
Not a genie who serves my interests.
Not my own intellect or capacity.
Not my church community.
Not my husband.
Not in my body’s ability to stay ‘locked and loaded’ for 40 weeks. Gross, I know. But true.
Not my job.
Not my degrees.
My faith is in Jesus.
What’s on your ‘not’ list?

Sobbing… powerful, thanks for sharing!!!
